Learn how to use strength effectively, maintain cardiovascular fitness, improve flexibility and coordination. Embracing the mental and spiritual element of martial arts will improve the mind's focus and enable you to develop self-control, build confidence and manage stress. These classes are not meant to promote fighting.

Program is available to everyone, including adults.



The International Judo Federation in conjunction with the Kodokan (the founders of judo) and the French National Organization have developed a brand new form that teaches basic skills in Judo. It's called 'Kodomo No Kata’ and will help kids and adults learn Judo safely.

Judo provides the following benefits:

  • Provides physical fitness and mental fitness
  • Helps to develop a judoka’s physical abilities
  • Helps to develop a judoka’s mental abilities
  • Helps to develop a judoka’s social abilities



Monthly Fee: Member $40/Community Participants $45

A 15% discount is available to families with more than 2 participants. Discount will be applied to the 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. participants in the family. 


Ages 6 and up - Classes are weekly on Monday and Thursday from 6:30pm-7:45pm.

Ages 15 and up - Classes are weekly on Fridays from 6:00pm-7:30pm.

All classes are held at the Barbara Bauer Briggs Family YMCA.

Judo uniforms can be purchases from Coach Tim. USA Judo membership needed for Belt Promotion and Competition.
