Providing child care for those caring for us. In these unprecedented times, we asked ourselves - how can we be of service to those who need us most?

It’s more important than ever to live our YMCA mission of serving and strengthening our communities. During this time, child care providers have been deemed essential services. We understand that many essential workers in our community still need childcare so both branches have extended camp.

Our child care program will continue to follow the requirements of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Child Care Licensing. Each child is temperature screened prior to entering camp. Any revisions to the licensing requirements during this time will be communicated to you.

Drop-off and pick-up will continue to be outside. Only staff and children will be allowed inside the childcare area.

As our Y continues to offer emergency childcare for essential workers we pivot to engage virtually with members. Below you'll find downloadable activity kits from the YMCA of Greater Houston afterschool program curriculum.

These activities may require supplies and/or printing of materials. Be sure to review and prep materials prior to facilitating with youth.
