AQUATICS

 

GROUP SWIM LESSONS

Polliwog

Ages 6 years and up (basic).  Participants will work on floating, kicking, independent swimming and comfort in the water.  In addition, they will learn front glide, back glide, front crawl, side stroke and back stroke.

Guppy

Ages 6 years and up (advanced.  Participants will build on basic skills learned in the Polliwog class.  Will strengthen front crawl, back stroke, side stroke, and will learn the breaststroke.

 

**Class ages are basic guidelines. Child may be above or below suggested level.

GROUP SWIM LESSONS

With YMCA-USA certified Swim Lesson Instructors, Calhoun County YMCA offers quality lessons in a safe environment. The children not only have fun, but learn necessary life-saving skills.

Mommy & Me

Ages 6 months - 2 years. Parents and their child have fun together!  This class is geared towards getting the child used to the water. Teaches basic reach-and-pull front stroke skills with songs, games, toys and parent-child interaction.

Tiny Tots

Ages 3 - 5 years.  Designed for children to learn the basic swimming skills and stroke development.  Participants will work on being comfortable in the water on their own while learning kicking, front and back floating, breath control, and progressive paddle strokes.
